"Friday evening was a quick stop at the Roger Smith Hotel to meet with Cassie King (who, by the way, is as sweet as cherry pie) as she presented her Spring 2010 jewelry collection, CassandraCollections. Cassie crammed the famine of beauty with jewelry starting in the mid $80’s; the highest piece being a bib necklace with interchangeable colored ribbons at $485. When asked about her market, it was as if she answered my question with what market?; considering the San Antonio, Texas native feels her jewelry can unite consumers from their 20’s to their 80’s. Bib necklaces weren’t her only selling pieces, sting ray skin bracelets also stole my attention; as the designer told me that a lot of her pieces shown were staple pieces which would also transition into her Fall collection - in alternate colors, of course. Cassie designs a lot of custom pieces, which eventually form into her collection. A consumer may take something they like from here, to collaborate it with a piece they like from there – creating one.
